Makeup, Eyelashes, Eyes, and Wig Care: Protecting the Details

How to protect painted makeup, eyelashes, eyes, wigs, and facial details during cleaning and storage.

Makeup, Eyelashes, Eyes, and Wig Care: Protecting the Details

The face is often the most detailed part of the doll. Makeup, eyelashes, eyebrows, eyes, lips, and wigs can be damaged by the same habits that seem harmless on body areas.

Treat the face like a finished detail surface, not like a scrub area.

Clean around makeup, not through it

Use a soft damp cloth and light pressure. Avoid rubbing painted areas, especially eyeliner, lips, blush, brows, freckles, and nail detail.

If makeup is wet, let it dry naturally. Do not use heat or aggressive wiping to speed it up.

Protect eyelashes and eyes

Eyelashes can loosen if pulled, rubbed, or caught on towels. Pat around them carefully. If an eyelash lifts, do not tear it off; ask support for the right adhesive or repair route.

Eyes should be cleaned carefully around the edges. Avoid pushing liquid behind the eye area unless the head design specifically allows removal and cleaning.

Wig routine

Remove or secure the wig before heavy cleaning. Detangle from the ends upward with a wide-tooth comb or suitable wig brush. Do not pull from the roots.

Store wigs separately on a stand, in a breathable bag, or in a clean box. Keep dark wig caps or dyed fibers from resting against light skin for long periods.

What to avoid on the face

  • Alcohol wipes, makeup remover, acetone, strong soap, or solvent-based cleaners.
  • Scrubbing lips, brows, eyelids, or blushed areas.
  • Dragging towels across eyelashes.
  • Leaving damp hair or dark wig caps pressed against the face.
  • Applying unknown cosmetics directly to the material.

Quick checklist

  • Use light pressure around painted areas.
  • Pat, do not scrub.
  • Keep wigs clean, dry, and stored separately.
  • Avoid heat and solvent cleaners.
  • Ask support before attempting makeup repair.
